Crisis Manager - Internationella Engelska Skolan/ Head Office
Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES) is committed to providing a safe, calm, and secure environment for our 31,000 students and 3,700 staff across our 47 schools.
We are now seeking a high-caliber Crisis Manager to serve as the strategic lead for our emergency response framework. This role is essential for leading our emergency response framework, ensuring the protection of students, staff, and facilities through meticulous planning, rapid response coordination, and robust recovery strategies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for acting as the strategic lead for our emergency response framework, bridging the gap between site-level incidents and executive leadership, and contributing to the overall success of Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES).
Key Responsibilities
Act as the primary coordinator for the central crisis management team (HQ Crisis Team Leadership). You will lead regular drills, maintain readiness protocols, and serve as the "command center" during active incidents.
Develop, implement, and audit comprehensive Crisis Management Plans (CMPs) for both HQ and all 47 individual school sites (Strategic Planning).
Manage and execute strategic planning and readiness protocols under the direction of Security & Safety Director.
Develop and maintain documentation related to Crisis Management Plans, including CMPs for all sites.
Support schools with preparedness plans, implementation, and trainings.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a unified and professional response to any threat and liaise with law enforcement, emergency services, and legal counsel.
Analyze data and prepare reports on Post-Incident Analysis and After Action Reviews (AARs).
Participate in team meetings and training sessions, such as crisis simulation exercises (Tabletop Exercises).
Provide support for on-call incident response for school leadership teams and threat assessment.
Lead "After Action Reviews" (AARs) to identify gaps in response and implement continuous improvements across the organization.
Ensure compliance with all relevant company policies and industry regulations.
Contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Criminal Justice, Risk Management, or a related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in crisis management, emergency services, military operations, or corporate security within a large, multi-site organization.
Strong proficiency in exceptional verbal and written skills in both English and Swedish, tailored for sensitive internal communications and public statements, and proven Project Management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
Ability to remain calm and provide clear, decisive direction under extreme pressure
Preferred
Experience with Post-Incident Analysis and continuous improvement implementation.
Certifications such as Professional certifications (e.g CBCP, CPP).
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

About the position:
You will report to the Director of Security & Safety. This is a full-time position, and we would prefer if you are able to work regularly from our head office in Danderyd, Stockholm. The role includes travel to our schools across Sweden.
